RemigoOne Neo, credited to designer Ajda Bertok, was named Product Design of the Year at the 2025 European Product Design Awards. As an electric outboard, it sits at the intersection of industrial design, transportation and the transition toward electrified products.
The most interesting question in a product like this is not simply whether it looks different. Designers must consider how the object is handled, installed, maintained, stored and understood by someone using it in a demanding environment. An elegant form has real value when it helps clarify those interactions rather than conceal complexity.
The project offers a useful lens on a wider shift in product design. Electrification creates opportunities to reconsider familiar typologies instead of replacing a conventional power source inside an unchanged form. A full technical assessment would require independently verified performance, lifecycle and serviceability data; the award alone does not establish those outcomes.
