Folke, by Canadian photographer Genevieve Charbonneau, won 1st Place in Beauty advertising photography at the 2026 International Photography Awards. The series was featured in Latest Magazine.
It spotlights the model Folke, whose expressive face and blonde hair became, in Charbonneau’s words, “a canvas for creative exploration.” Working with light, texture and movement, she sculpted portraits that are by turns intense and delicate, capturing the model’s power and grace.
Moving between colour and black and white, close-ups and full-length frames, the series shows how much range a single sitter can carry. Charbonneau describes each frame as celebrating beauty as “a pure, emotional language” — a reminder that beauty photography can be about character as much as surface.
