Overview

About the award

Founded in 2007 by Farmani Group, the Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3) is an annual photography award that aims to promote the appreciation of photography, discover emerging talent and introduce photographers from around the world to the artistic community of Paris. Professional, non-professional and student photographers can enter.

Winning work is shown at the annual PX3 Winners Exhibition in Paris and published in the PX3 Annual Book. The top professional is named PX3 Photographer of the Year. The top non-professional or student receives Best New Talent of the Year.

How entries are judged
All entries are pre-screened by PX3 on calibrated monitors in the week after the final deadline. Official judging then runs over several weeks with an international jury of editors, publishers, curators, gallerists, creative directors and art directors. Photographers’ names are hidden from the jury. Each entry is scored from 1 to 100, and the winners are selected from the combined scores.

Every juror uses the same criteria: originality, creativity, excellence of execution and overall impact. Series are judged as one body of work.
