About the award
Organized by Farmani Group, the European Product Design Award (EPDA) is an annual program that recognizes international product and industrial designers whose practical, well-thought-out creations improve daily life. It brings international product design to a wider European audience and gives the winning designers global exposure.
EPDA runs three programs. The main award is for professionals. The Emerging Design Award is for students and universities, with EPDA sponsoring 50% of the student entry fee. The Express Design Award is open year-round and has a fast-tracked review. Entrants do not need to be based in Europe, and designs do not need to be made there.
The program’s top honors are Product Design of the Year, Emerging Product Designer of the Year, Innovation of the Year and Design for Humanity, alongside special awards such as Best Furniture Design, Best Eco Design and Best Packaging Design.
How entries are judged
Entries are evaluated online by an international jury of independent designers, clients, design educators and editors. No physical samples are needed: the jury reviews the images, PDF documentation and links each entrant provides. The evaluation criteria are regularly updated to reflect current standards in product design.
