David Bassetti is an engineer and product designer who has spent years in the medical industry and holds several patents.

His Positive Air Pressure Respirator, a better-fitting, reusable mask developed in Spain during the full lockdown of 2020, won the $5,000 Product Design Grant of the IDA Covid-19 Design Innovation Grant. Bassetti’s guiding principle for the project was “fit, then function”.
