Jongho Kim leads Team HANDIONE, a group of designers from the Hansung University Design and Art Institute in Korea, with Minjoon Kim, Jisang Park and Seoyoung Baek.
Their collection Be Covered with Mystique earned them Emerging Fashion Designer of the Year at the 2020 International Design Awards, along with six Gold awards. Drawing a parallel between the Confucian-era custom of concealing the female silhouette and the distance imposed by the pandemic, the collection uses the hanbok, Korea’s traditional dress, to celebrate the grace of being obscured.
