Joshua Ramus is the founding principal of the New York architecture studio REX. A former French horn player who studied philosophy, studio art and art history before turning to architecture, he brings a musician’s balance of precision and emotion to his work.
REX’s Perelman Performing Arts Center, the cultural keystone of the World Trade Center site, was named Architectural Design of the Year at the 2023 International Design Awards. Wrapped in translucent marble, the building’s three venues can combine into 62 stage-and-audience configurations.
